General Information
The stadium on Grenoble Road
was orignally given planning permission and construction started
in the mid-90's, but Oxford United's financial difficulties at the time meant
that work stopped with only the framework complete.
Construction re-started at the end of 2000, and 3 sides completed
in time for the 2001/02 season - unfortunately by this time U's
had been relegated to Division 3.
Still (for now) officially named after our former owner, the stadium has been un-officially renamed by the fans as 'The United Stadum'.
The 3 sides of the UNITED Stadium hold a total of 12,573. A fourth
side is only likely to be built as U's rise back through the League
and attendances warrant the expenditure.
There are over 1,500 free parking spaces around the stadium.
The seating areas of the ground are strictly non-smoking - lighting
up is restricted to the concourses.
Site Plan & Stand Information

 |
The East stand (Oxford Mail stand) is the gathering place for the most vociferous U's supporters, the modern equivilent of the London Road end.
The stand holds 2,840 (+24 wheelchair spaces) in a single tier of seats. |
 |
The South stand holds 4,571 (plus 82 wheelchair spaces) in two tiers plus 28 executive boxes. The stand also houses the main club offices, changing rooms and main ticket office. Backing onto the stand is the Quadrangle Conference Centre (capacity approx 750) - this changes into a 450 seat restaurant and supporters bars on match days. |
 |
The North stand (Nuffield Hospitals stand) of the ground holds a total of 5,206 in a single tier of seats. It can easily be divided up to hold different ratios of home and travelling supporters. There is also a seperate ticket office for away fans (there is no cash payment at the turnstiles) at the Western end of the stand. |
There are concourse areas in all the stands serving the usual over-priced, underwhelming selection of food and drink, that is if there is any left when you get there. Alcohol, if you can get excited by warm Carlsberg, is served. There are also programme sellers at regular intervals.
The concourses are the only places inside the ground you can smoke, there is strictly no smoking in the seats. |
How To Get To The United Stadium
By Car
The United Stadium is on Grenoble Road. This links to the Oxford Ring Road via either the B480 Watlington Road, or the A4074. See the map below for details, or view on Google PinTheMap. There is plenty of free parking at the ground, but it can take a while to get out when busy. Be careful street parking as there are various control schemes and lots of parking wardens about.

Details of the services can be found here.

- The
Stagecoach number 1 service runs from Oxford city centre to Blackbird Leys with a stop a short walk from the ground.
